In celebration of Women's History month this March, come run with us, The United Women FireFighters!

The United Women Firefighters is an affinity group of female firefighters and fire officers working in the Fire Department of New York (FDNY). On September 25, 1982 approximately 40 years ago, the first group of women, 41 to be exact were hired as part of the FDNY. These trailblazing women worked hard to open the door for all the women firefighters that came after them.

For our 40th anniversary we are planning a Gala this September to honor and celebrate the women that challenged the system and opened doors for women to become firefighters.

You can show your support by participating in our Virtual United Women Firefighter Run/Walk Challenge. All participants will have four days to complete the run/walk of their choice from March 26th to March 29th, 2022. The run can be completed any place you choose and anytime during the four days. Please tag our Facebook page with any pictures of you in your event t-shirts, online bib and your completed run times. https//:facebook.com/uwffdny/1668668001
