UWF Training Program
UWF TRAINING PROGRAM
The United Women Firefighters (UWF) has partnered with the New York Sports Club (NYSC), the Fire Foundation and the New York Women's Foundation to provide a training program for women candidates geared towards passing CPAT and getting physically prepared for fire academy. Any woman who is interested in being a firefighter in the FDNY can participate in the program.
We have firefighting and CPAT equipment and we work with you to identify your strengths and weaknesses so you can improve and pass all physical requirements needed to get on the job. You will be in an environment of other women candidates led by women firefighters and our trainer, Anwar Hafeez. The program is also a valuable place to get your questions answered about the process of getting hired and any other questions you may have about what it's like to be a woman firefighter in NYC.
Please check out our Program Rules if you'd like to participate in our training program.

Schedule
The training program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00pm and Saturdays at 12:30pm. Trainees are required to wear red t-shirts, bring a 50 pound weight vest and be prepared for an intense two hour workout. Trainees should come dressed in workout clothes, wear running sneakers, bring a water bottle and a lock if you choose to use the locker room. Trainees also must bring a medical waiver/doctor’s note clearing them for a rigorous exercise program. It is mandatory that trainees come on time. We recommend coming earlier than the times listed. Download a waiver here.
New York Sports Club (NYSC)
NYSC is located at 30 Broad street in Lower Manhattan and is accessible from most trains. Trainees receive a free fitness guide/journal, and a free hand grip. Free one-on-one time with trainer, Anwar Hafeez, for personal and customized fitness plan is also available to trainees.
